In Memory of Adrianna Rebecca Klawson April 18, 1989 – January 6, 2008
On January 6, 2008, Adrianna Rebecca Klawson died as a passenger in a rollover automobile accident in Santa Cruz County. Adrianna was a native of Michigan and actively involved in her community volunteering at Milford’s Community Sharing organization plus knitting blankets and hats for the needy. She was an outstanding student, avid reader, creative writer and poet. Adrianna was active at the Milford Dance Academy and in figure skating. Helping her neighbors was important to Adrianna and she did so by pet and babysitting. When Adrianna visited, she fell under the spell of the people and the beauty of the southern Arizona and made the decision to move here for her college education. Her light that had burned so brightly had been transformed into a shooting star. Adrianna lived only eighteen short years when this tragedy occurred. Yet, one's life should not be measured by days and years, but rather by life's learned experiences. In this, Adrianna lived a full life. She packed a lot of life's experiences and lessons into those eighteen years. Adrianna's life lessons were centered on love. One of her daily reminders was to "Love as if there was no tomorrow." That is how she lived. She loved and knew she was loved and that will be her gift to those, who knew her. She loved many things – children and animals were among her favorites. Adrianna planned to begin her studies at a university with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. The Unity in the Valley Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to Adrianna’s memory. This foundation will help young people obtain the higher education that proved too elusive in Adrianna's lifetime. Often an educational opportunity can change a person's life. Through this gift to others, who did not personally know Adrianna, their futures will be brighter. In this way, a supposed tragedy is being transformed into a positive, living legacy for Adrianna Rebecca Klawson.
